Art & Business | After two years’ work, the French 5 star hotel Le Royal Monceau opens its doors at the very heart of a scene driven by a new young, global and very affluent clientele; its identity is clearly hall marked « Arty Chic ».
Alexandre Allard, entrepreneur and collector, is the producer, and Philippe Starck the director of the concept, right down to the slightest visual detail. Herve Mikaeloff, LVMH’s guru, is charged with the task of making this luxury hotel a melting pot of arts and dissemination of ideas. Contemporary art, creativity, and the Gallic spirit and Culture all meet against a backdrop of different settings and ambiences. Works in situ by Stephane Calais or Joana Vasconcelos, a specialist art library, an art gallery, arts events, an art concierge...and don’t forget « Art for Breakfast », its own cultural blog. These are the components of a finely honed communications machine
