Art-Trans-Truck in Franche-Comté
Contemporary Art | The Frac Franche-Comté launches the Satellite, a 20 square meter truck offering theme exhibitions drawing on works from the collection. The first, Être mobile, explores mankind’s different modes of transport and movement.
Despite the discontinuation of the mobile Centre Pompidou in 2013 due to lack of financing for the extremely onerous project, the Frac Franche-Comté is reiterating a similar yet different program with its Satellite. Designed by the architect-artist Mathieu Herbelin and inspired by a fairground ambiance, the Satellite differs through its lightness, mobility, transformability and identifiably. Institutions or local associations propose to host the Satellite, and the exhibitions take form in their space and directly in front of their public. Educational tools are designed to aid a non-tradition art public in appreciating the works and anticipating their desires. Informed by current trends and with a transformable truck-shop like design, the Satellite offers Art-trans-truck. To be continued...
