Chinese collectors: new faces

Art & Business | The young generation of collectors is emerging from China. Here are several names, which would be quite important in the coming years : Han Lin (27 / WoodArt private museum), David Chau (30 / funds the Leo Xu Project and Shanghai contemporary Art Fair), Xun Lu (30 / Sifang Art Museum), Chong Zhou (25), Jian Shi (23).

They have something in common : 1° Aged between 20 and 30 years old. Shi Jian is only 23, doing his Master in international relationship in University of Strasbourg. 2° From rich families. They are the second or third generations of tycoons, such as property developer, investor, owner of pharmaceutical firm, entrepreneur etc. 3° Well-educated and have a global vision : they have studied abroad and influenced by the western culture that makes them able to appreciate contemporary art, comparing to the last generation.
