YUMP - MIX ART&MARKETING
Formation | The Observatoire de l’art contemporain was invited by the Yump Academy to participate in Culture and Management with 21 « yumpers » : project leaders enjoying excellent training. « You are the creator of a business and a creator you shall remain ! « was the guiding principle for Nina Rodrigues-Ely and Manuel Fialho who worked together to present a three-hour Art & Marketing Mix session based on detailed and multi-faceted practical case studies.
Developed in Sweden, the Yump (Young Urban Movement Project) programme was exported to France and set up in 93 with a single goal : boosting neighbourhood business development. Taking inspiration from a coaching-mentoring model, the Yump Academy seeks to identify the leaders of business projects with significant growth potential in order to train them, finance them and support them in the development of their business. In 2013-2014, its first year, 21 potential entrepreneurs are undergoing demanding six-month-long training - completely free of charge. The groundbreaking training is both interpersonal and pragmatic in nature with elitist considerations replaced with quality ideas, motivation and ambition. Yumpers may or may not be graduates; they may have been through school or taken a different path. They may have an idea but they lack contacts and financial resources. In a bid to compensate for these shortcomings and breathe fresh life into the process, no less than thirty sponsors are supporting this business academy including Microsoft, Renault and Altran.
In choosing to enter into partnership with the Yump Academy, the Observatoire de l’art contemporain is seeking to convey the idea that the culture of creation is destined to infiltrate their approach in order to create an ongoing research process and global perspectives.
